    Thesis Abstract:

In this work design, modeling and implementation of IBOC digital audio broadcasting are investigated. This system can send analog and digital audio signal stimulatingly in FM band. Therefore there is no need for allocation of new band for digital audio broadcasting. Also, conversion from old analog transmitters to new digital transmitters has fewer costs. This system uses OFDM technique for terrestrial broadcasting. For implementation of base band section, the float model of the system is required. This model has been developed in Simulink environment. In the next step, developing the Bit-True model of the system, all the implementation aspect such as hardware parameters have been extracted individually. Using hardware description language, HDL model of a system has been developed. The final step is synthesis of HDL code and implementation of system in FPGA or ASIC platforms.
